seminar: Energy Efficiency Optimization and Alternative Energy Utilization

The Government of St. Vincent & the Grenadines has a vision for a green economy which includes:

National Energy Policy for St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG)

The Energy Unit, Prime Minister’s Office hosted a one-day seminar: Energy Efficiency Optimization and Alternative Energy Utilization on Tuesday 15th November, 2011 at the National Insurance Services (NIS) Conference Room, from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.

The Opening/Welcoming Remarks were delivered by Mr Ellsworth Dacon – Director Energy Unit and followed by Prayer by Ms Julie Rogers, a Clerk also in the Energy Unit. A Key Note Address was delivered by Dr Jerrol Thompson, Director of Special Projects within the Prime Minister’s Office.

The session was facilitated by Mr Eaton H. Haughton, P. E. is the Managing Director of Econergy Engineering Services Ltd of Jamaica covering:

  • Energy Efficiency: An Easy Way to Save Energy Best Practice for Electricity utilization etc.
  • Energy Efficiency in the Government and Private Sectors: How to save energy with attractive pay backs periods.
  • Energy Efficiency in the Government and private Sectors: How to save energy with attractive pay back periods
  • General Results from the Energy Audits in Government and Private Facilities in SVG
  • Introduction to Alternative and Renewable Energy for the Government, Home, and Business Establishments (Solar, Biogas, and Wind); Applications
  • The session concluded with a Panel Discussion drawing conclusions and charting a way forward.
