The government of South Korea, Inter-American Development Bank, Nordic Development Fund and GDF SUEZ, have pulled together to seek out energy solutions from Caribbean, South and Central American nations, and there are huge cash prizes for the best ideas!
That’s exactly what the 2013 IDEAS Energy Innovation Contest is all about: rewarding innovative energy solutions that are concentrated on the “adoption, innovation, assimilation, development and transfer of technologies in renewable energy, energy efficiency, climate change mitigation and fossil fuel substitution” for people living in the Caribbean and Latin America.
People with the most viable solutions will receive up to $100,000 towards implementing their idea, in addition to business and technical support. Judges will be looking for innovative technologies, processes, methods of supplying energy, financial and organizational models and other progressive ideas regarding renewable and efficient energies. If you’ve got a bright take on solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal, biofuels and other energies, IDEAS is a great springboard for your idea!
There is a catch for this energy contest though, as entries will only be accepted from inventors residing in one of the following countries:
Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay and Venezuela.
If you’re looking to make a name for yourself in the growing energy markets of South and Central America and the Caribbean Islands with huge innovative ideas, get your presentation together and send it to the 2013 IDEAS Energy Innovation Contest by July 1st.
